Jackie Palmer, Marylyn’s Mum died peacefully at home with Marylyn and Chris this morning Wednesday 17th February 2016
Two years after she started dance classes, during the 1930’s, she was dancing professionally in pantomimes and went on to become a principal dancer, head girl and choreographer, performing in the West End and throughout the country including a stint in ENSA.
Having had her own dance school previously, she helped Marylyn set up the Jackie Palmer Stage School in 1971, giving not only her name, but her standards and most importantly the idea and notion of Family.
Jackie has been an important figure to all of the staff at the stage school, as well as the Agencies, as well as too many parents, pupils, clients and former parents/pupils/clients.
Obviously as Jackie herself would insist, the show must go on, so it will be business as usual, but we would ask that consideration is given to the very sad process that family and loved ones are going through.
We are all united in sadness and have lost an incredible Matriarch to us all, we offer our condolences to all of you who feel her loss.
We would ask that any messages of condolences are done via email rather than by phone. Thank you.
